Types of Permits

(Note: please carry your permit receipt with you while snowmobiling)

Full Seasonal Trail Permit
The Seasonal Trail Permit may be purchased from OFSC clubs, associations, districts or online at this web site. The permit expires May 31st of the season of purchase. The permit is valid only in the province of Ontario and may be used to access any open prescribed trails operated by the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. To become an OFSC member and receive OFSC benefits such as a free subscription to the OFSC GO Snowmobiling Magazine and many special offers from OFSC partners, please sign the yellow sheet (the one with the two small OFSC logos at the bottom of the page) when you buy your Seasonal Permit.

7-Day Permit
The 7-Day Trail Permit may be purchased from OFSC clubs, associations. This permit offers the same access to open OFSC prescribed trails as the Seasonal Permit. This permit is for 7 consecutive days only. No member benefits are offered with this permit.

3-Day Permit
The 3-Day Trail Permit may be purchased from OFSC clubs or associations. This permit offers the same access to open OFSC prescribed trails as the Seasonal Permit. This permit is for 3 consecutive days only. No member benefits are offered with this permit.

Special Event Permit
The Special Event Permit is intended for use only with club sanctioned events. This permit offers access only to the open OFSC prescribed trails being used for the club event. No member benefits are offered with this permit.

Classic Permit (for model years 1998 and older)
The Classic Permit may be purchased only from an OFSC district office. The permit expires May 31st of the season of purchase. The permit is valid only in the province of Ontario when affixed to the MTO registered, 15-year or older sled for which it was purchased as identified in the MTO permit application. It may be used to access any open prescribed trails operated by the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. To become an OFSC member and receive OFSC benefits such as a free subscription to the OFSC GO Snowmobiling Magazine and many special offers from OFSC partners, please sign the yellow sheet, the one with two small OFSC logos on the bottom of the page.

Replacement Permits
If the trail permit is lost, stolen or damaged and needs to be replaced, please contact a snowmobile club. The fee for a replacement permit is $10.00. You must present the original trail permit receipt along with the original permit, or portion thereof. If not available, a police report or police incident number is required for stolen or lost permits.
